Make Your Hips Happy This Sunday
Healthy, happy hips are super important for your body. Every single yoga class gets into hips for this reason—whether you do lunges, extended side angles or pigeon poses (the mother of all hip openers). Hips get tight from sitting all day, and also from running and other sports. When you improve your hip flexibility and range of motion, your whole body—especially your back—feels stronger and more limber. You can erase pain in the legs, low back and pelvis by strengthening and lengthening your hips. So go ahead and make your hips happy this Sunday
You need Alison McCue’s Happy, Healthy and Happy Hips Workshop this Sunday in Bloomfield from noon to 2 p.m. Register here.
She says the hip area affects you physically and emotionally, “Yogic tradition holds the hips as a storage ground for negative feelings and pent-up emotions, especially the ones related to control in our lives. Opening the hips offers access to freedom in the body and the spirit.”
She’ll lead the class through some non-hot flow then dive into juicy poses like standing pigeon, goddess, hanuman, half and double pigeon, king pigeon, compass, frog and cow face poses. When students come out, they will feel light, loose, open, happy and relaxed, Ali adds. “Hip openers bring release and relief.”
So sign up now for this awesome, popular workshop. It is a stretchy, feel-good and good-for-your body class that just might change your whole practice.
