Awesomeness at The Yoga Journal Live! Conference
Alison McCue packed the room at this year’s Yoga Journal Live! Conference in New York City just two weekends ago. She taught a powerful yet chill Bob Marley Flow class. The music and Ali’s sequence inspired her students to move, smile and sing. Her class took place during the last session on Sunday evening, and she helped students soak up all of the awesomeness that is the yoga community.
She also taught a marketing workshop for teachers and studio owners. Her goal was to help others get the message out about their yoga businesses. She gave them tips and tricks that she has learned over seven years as a co-owner and now as Powerflow’s chief marketing officer.
She says Yoga Journal Live! was an amazing experience for her. “I learned that I love to teach,” Ali adds. And she’s the first to admit she was nervous.“ If something isn’t scary, then it usually isn’t worth it!” She looks forward to doing it again in 2016.
Thanks to all the PFY yogis who showed up to support her. The whole weekend was packed with fun classes, workshops and shopping. Those of us who were there took classes from yoga superstars like Sean Corn, Kathryn Budig, Shiva Rea, Dana Trixie Flynn, Jason Crandell and many more. These famous yogis shared their knowledge, and we can’t wait to share it with our students.
“It was really exciting for me,” says Bloomfield manager and teacher Kristen Brunello. Another PFY teacher, Misha Hajj (photo at left with Kathryn Budig) agreed. She loved Ali’s class and also had a blast with Kripalu’s Coby Kozlowski. But Misha wants everyone to know one thing. “I learned that we have some kick butt yoga teachers right here in Montclair, and we are 100 percent spoiled.”
