Kula For Karma Honors PFY’s Jerry LePore
We are thrilled to announce that Powerflow Yoga’s founder Jerry LePore will be a guest of honor at Kula for Karma’s 8th Annual Gala. They will thank him for his dedication to the yoga community.
Because of Jerry’s vision and influence, PFY has been able to positively impact more than 10,000 lives in the state of New Jersey. Yoga has helped Jerry fight his ongoing battle with Hairy Cell Leukemia, a treatable but incurable cancer of the blood. Jerry truly believes in yoga’s therapeutic benefits, and he still practices three times a week. Jerry left a successful healthcare career in 2007 to start PFY. “Yoga opened my mind that we need to have balance in our lives,” he says. His goal is to continue to help yogis find more physical strength and mental clarity through the practice.
The Annual Gala is Kula’s major fundraiser. The proceeds will pay for all of the non-profit’s expenses for one year and help them develop more programs, says executive director Penni Feiner. Join Kula for this year’s Wine and Dine event at the Hilton in Pearl River, New Jersey, on November 2 at 6 pm. Over 30 top restaurants and chefts will host tapas-style tasting stations with wine pairings. They’re expecting 400 guests. Tickets are available here.
Kula for Karma is a non-profit organization that brings yoga to populations in need at no cost. Their volunteers–including several PFY teachers–go into hospitals, schools, prisons and many other locations to help people who face physical and mental health challenges.
PFY is proud to be a Kula for Karma affiliate, and Kula just chose PFY to be their studio of the month for October. Thank you, Kula, for the many honors.
